These days, Corporate America is losing weight. Seriously. After the Enron scandal and compliance and immigration issues, corporate America is gearing up to fight a different sort of battle 0 the battle of the bulge. And for the first time since any epidemic, individual health is gaining major concern. This is because big and small businesses, have come to realize that the individual health of their employees can have a major impact on their own financial health.
This is not something that the corporate world has woken up to overnight. The movement has been slow and laborious and fraught with difficulties, but the powers that be have come to the conclusion that unless they take some drastic steps to maintain the individual health of their employees, they will pay a much heavier price in terms of lost days due to sickness, bigger and more expensive medical bills and general illness that threatens to engulf all productivity. I was beginning to worry that my daughter was going to grow up being a complete tomboy. If you look at her now, you can already tell that she is going to be a knockout when she gets older. Though I was a tomboy myself when I was growing up, there was a part of me that loved being a girl. I was worried that my daughter did not have this gene, but recently she has really shown me that she does. When we went shopping the other day, she begged and pleaded for a princess costume. We have not gotten one yet, but I0m going to get her one very soon
She wants a princess costume because she recently got a ballet dance mat for Christmas. She loves the idea of being a princess, and I for one am glad that she does.
